Washington Baby!

Thinking our house would be on the market for at least a few months we packed in as many out of town trips as possible in May before I was in the no fly zone and so we could be gone when all these people were looking at our house! We booked a week long house hunting trip to WA to figure out what part of Seattle we want to live in when Matt gets back from deployment and to see some old friends and check out Matt's new base.

We left the same day as Gamma and had a long day of airplane travel out West with a toddler. We are very thankful that this was our last trip with a lap child in tow. Next time he will be strapped in to a car seat unable to move! We were those parents...we stopped at Walmart before we left for the airport and purchased a portable DVD player, Elmo videos and some Benedryl. Fortunately the DVD player worked and we didn't have to resort to the drugs! I lucked out on the lap child due to the size of my stomach. Everyday my lap gets smaller and it gets less and less comfortable for Connor to sit on it!

The weather wasn't ideal for our visit but we didn't care one bit. It was so nice to be back in that part of the country and see old friends and check out new places where we might end up next year.

The best part about the trip was that we were able to get a personal tour of the Lincoln from a fellow friend from Corpus who is also a Shooter (same job as Matt will do) on the boat. He toured the three of us around and answered a ton of questions. It was great to get a visual of where Matt will be spending the next 6 months. The living quarters exceeded our expectations, however it is going to be a very different tour this time around. The boat seemed smaller to us than we pictured but it houses about 90 planes and 3000 people so it isn't all that small!
We visited Raz and Nikki who live in Seattle about 2 blocks from the Space needle and took some great Connor pictures.
We visited The Nelson's and Connor had a blast playing with their two boys, Jaegar and Body. We arrived at their house for dinner and didn't see Connor for 2 hours! He was in heaven hanging out with the big boys and playing with all their toys!
We also headed up to Anacortes and saw The Aldridges and their latest addition Ella. Matt was able to catch up with his old friend Cowboy for a couple of days and that was great. He had an Indy 500 party and I was able to get some great video of Connor waving his race flag.

We had a photo shoot out at Rosario beach while we were there. I really think Connor enjoyed everything we did. I'm hoping he takes to WA as quickly as we did. He was a trooper throughout the entire trip and was very flexible with our every changing schedule.
